Article Alley now requires new members to Article Alley to give  original permanent exlusive rights to new articles in order for them to be published on ArticleAlley.com .  Articles from members registered after September 1st, 2011 which are not original and exclusive to ArticleAlley will either be rejected or reposted on one of our other websites which allows non-exclusivity.

  • Faster approval time
  • A maximum of two do-follow links
  • Ability to add images initially from either Flickr or wikimedia
  • Ability to add videos from youtube
  • A revenue share will also be available in the near future.

To qualify authors will need to be aware of the following:-

  • Content needs to be 100% unique not available anywhere else on the web
  • Content can not be re-used elsewhere
  • We will scan pages every few days using copyscape to protect the articles from copying.
  • Grammar, spelling needs to be of a very high standard

Existing authors who feel they can meet the criteria will be able to apply from within their account.

]]> http://blog.articlealley.com/1790-linkedin.html/feed 0 New caching technology http://blog.articlealley.com/1788-new-caching-technology.html http://blog.articlealley.com/1788-new-caching-technology.html#comments Wed, 18 May 2011 14:56:14 +0000 admin http://blog.articlealley.com/?p=1788 For a long time we have had issues with the caching technology on Article Alley, regular users will be used to seeing that their articles are live but can’t find them on their author pages.  This was because to keep server loads down and web speed up we cached pages using smarty caching.  Smarty requires the whole cache in an area to be rebuild each time there are changes rather than page by page.

From today we are pleased to say that is being phased out and being replaced with our own in house custom technology, this means that changes will be be updated more or less in real time.

Just another small step to make Article Alley better and better – hopefully  the best place for news and articles!

Once we have it running we will run it against the whole database.  Our new admin area will allow authors to see articles that have been suspended and the reason such as spelling for the suspension.

At this time we are proposing to noindex suspended articles, so the search engines will ignore them rather than actually removing them from the database.

A new caching system will automatically change this real time, but for now authors will have to wait for our bi-monthly cache refresh.

http://   without any domain name will lead to the article getting a rejection.

We are working on a new authors area that will allow minor issues like this to be fixed up and resubmitted but its going to be a few months before this is ready.
