Today we made some tweaks to Article Alley, 90% of our article pages have now lost their common left hand navigation menu and now show the most related tag pages for that page.

It means less links per page and more relevant text to accompany articles.  Most visitors come directly to a page following a search from Google or Yahoo so it makes sense to only show relevant text.

We thought what use is an automotive link to a someone reading an article about dating, hence the move to get rid of these non-relevant urls.

Also for a long time the wiki link has been broken this is now fixed and a few hundred new wiki pages are also live.  In 2010 we will expand this section hugely with a several 10,000′s of new pages going live.  But for now its a few steps further along.

Our 5min partnership is well progressed and their videos will very shortly feature on Article Alley – they are already proving to be a big hit on our other Article Directory A1articles.

We are working very hard at promoting Article Alley again and following a few hiccups over recent months are confident of a doubling of traffic during the early part of 2010.

We are pleased to announce that we have signed a partnership deal with 5min.com, later this month, visitors will be able to watch their vidoes running across nearly 1,300,000 pages on our network.

5min.com attracts a large audience of millions of monthly visitors, distribution and monetization of these videos is the Company’s primary focus. 5min offers a one-stop solution for online video: providing a rich, segmented offering of tens of thousands of videos; empowering websites to integrate videos throughout their sites with just hours of work; and creating incremental revenue, traffic and engagement

We feel that adding 5min’s content to our article pages will provide even more useful information to assist our visitors.

Alexa the ever popular search engine and ranking information site now shows Article Alley to be the top 3,397th site in the world.

Thats some going and is a great tribute to all the hardwork that our authors put in.  Every new page on Article Alley brings a small amount of traffic.  When you have nearly 1,200,000 pages its easy to see where the traffic comes from.

We are pleased to launch our latest service, a squidoo and hubpage writing service. Both these sites are peforming really well in the search engines at the moment and we think that this service will be really popular.

Squidoo has become a very popular content network site; its strong web presence makes this a great way to promote your website. You can use Squidoo pages as a way of promoting your website regardless of what your site is based around. So what makes a Squidoo lens such a great online marketing opportunity? Anything that helps get your website more traffic and gets more people interested in your business is a great marketing opportunity and a Squidoo lens does exactly this.

You can use a Squidoo lens to add RSS feeds, images and links associated with your website you can also place descriptive and promotional text on it. You can place as much or as little information as desired and best of all you aren’t merely limited to the one lens; you can create several, all of which can promote the same website.

Hubpages is another popular social network site. It gives you the opportunity to get your website more hits and to bring you potential customers and clients. This is because even if people can’t find your website within a search engine search they may come across your hubpage, which will contain links back to your website, thus bringing you more traffic. So what can you do with a hubpage?

On a hubpage you can include aspects such as links, images, text and RSS feeds as well as videos, all of which can be used as means of promoting your website and again, like with Squidoo lens you are able to produce a number of hubpages and the more you have the better chance you have of driving more traffic to your website.

We have been finding it really hard to keep up with all the great articles that our authors send through each day.  But the good news is that our team has expanded with the recruitment of Suzanne, which takes us up to 4 full time editors.

With her help we have cleared the backlog of submissions and emails that was starting to mount up, and the good news is that we are completely up to date as of 25th September.

Our new look Article Alley is almost complete – we have now re-designed our blog and wiki area – its 95% complete just a few more tweaks here and there and we are done.

The new design has been well received and we are getting favourable comments from our regulars. We are glad you like it!

We are pleased to announce that vs3.0 of Article Alley is now live, there have been a few minor issuing in the upgrade but everything appears to be settling down well.

The exciting thing about this new platform is that we will be able to go live with many new features in the coming months.

Found a great new site that I have not seen before – Article Alley is listed on Topsy

Topsy is a new kind of search engine, with a new way of looking at the Internet. Topsy doesn’t think the Internet is a collection of documents. Or even a web of documents. Topsy sees the Internet as a stream of conversations. Topsy treats people differently from the webpages they create and the things they say. And Topsy sees that people in every community are connected in a web of relationships, where each person influences other people to read, talk and think about things.

Article Alley now has a page on Wikipedia one the internet’s top sites.  It appears to be pretty accurate but the information is more than several months out of date – we have already passed the 1,000,000 article submission mark.

Users have been asking why our home page appears to be behind the rest of the site, its due to the surge in submissions we have seen over the last month, as of yesterday we doubled the rotation speed in an attempt to bring it back up to date.

Our development team is working on a flexible rotation system that will vary the rotation speed each day based on approved submissions from the previous day – for now please bear with us, we are up to date its just the home page is lagging.
